Sold the Car
I sold my car on Friday, and we sold Hedda’s car back in July. It feels really good to have one less thing to worry about. No more insurance payments. No more repair bills. No more paying for gas at the pump. No more parking.
Hedda and I live so close to public transportation, and we intend to stay near it, that we really have no need for cars in our daily lives. When we lived in Chicago, we had trouble getting rid of the vehicles because of the friends and family that lived nearby but out of reach of the transit systems. For those times when we really need a vehicle, like trips to the grocery store, we have joined ZipCar as a way to provide for our occaisional automobile needs.
