Neurotic Roomba Repaired

The update for our neurotic Roomba finally arrived while I was in Salt Lake City. The update process was tremendously boring, but the good news is that the well-behaved little robot we thought was lost has returned to us!

Itā€™s algorithm for cleaning is noticably different. It seems to be more keen on cleaning dirty areas, as the blue ā€œDirt Detectā€ LED comes on far more often now than before, which Iā€™d say is a good thing. Another change is that it seems to be more likely to randomly change direction without hitting a wall. Prior to the update, it would almost never change direction unless it hit a wall.

In any event, Iā€™m happy to have it back cleaning the kitchen. Lugging out the full-size upright was a real pain-in-the butt.
