Moving to The District
My life has taken an exciting and interesting twise! I have taken a contracting position with the Library of Congress, and Hedda and I will be moving to Washington, DC.
There is so much to talk about here that I don’t even know where to start! I think I’ll try the chronological approach…
My last day as an employee of Avanade will be October 14th. I have received nothing but positive comments from my friends there. Thanks go out to them and teh company. I appreciate all the support, and I know we’ll be working together again someday.
On October 15th, Hedda and I are flying out to search for apartments. We have been gathering up recommendations from our friends who live out there, and we’re planning on getting an apartment agency to take us around for a day, too. (I just have to remember to call and book them!) We’ll be attending Corey Keith and Anne Poore’s wedding ceremony while we’re there. (On a side note, Corey is the guy responsible for getting me this opportunity.) We’ll be back in Chicago on the 21st.
After that, we have a few more days of packing, and then I say my goodbye to Chicago. We will be attending Kat and Greg’s wedding in Ann Arbor, and I will be driving directly from there to DC. My first day is the 27th.
During the week between the 27th and the 31st, Hedda will finish packing; and then she will oversee the movers loading up our stuff. She’ll be driving to South Bend on the 31st to say goodbye to her parents, and I will be flying in to meet her. We’ll attend the Notre Dame vs. Florida State game (woo!), and then drive in her car to DC.
How’s that for a crazy October? The stress has been pretty high, but we’ve done well so far. I can’t wait to get out there and look for a place to live!
