It’s Not Paranoia If…

So this guy dual boots into Linux to buy a book on Amazon. Now, I’m all about being paranoid. I mean, I’m a guy who uses VMware as a sandbox to run applications he doesn’t really trust, so I understand where he’s coming from. But this is just stupid.

I have never, ever, in my entire life, from the time I was five years old hacking on my VIC-20 until my present work with Linux servers and an XP laptop, gotten malicious software on my computer. I’m not saying all people are this lucky - after all I am a reasonably intelligent computer geek - but still, even if you do get your banking passwords hacked, your liability is pretty trivial, at least under U.S. law.

Maybe they really are out to get him - but maybe he should just stop visiting all those ActivePr0nX.NET 2003 popup sites.
