Cast in Saturday Night
Katie called me up early last week to see if I would like to audition with her for Saturday Night, performed by The Arlington Players. I’ve been itching to get back into theater ever since I graduated Rose, where Katie and I were in Drama Club together.
So we went to auditions. I sang, and it was pretty good despite the fact I had to sing a capella because I didn’t have any piano music. I danced, and that was pretty awful. I got a callback, and this morning I got a call offering me the party of Bobby. Which I promptly accepted. I know pretty much nothing about Saturday Night, but according to the cast synopsis passed out at auditions, Bobby is “a real cut-up and is constantly reminder [sic] the others of his dating prowess.” It also says it needs to be played by an “impeccable comedic actor.” This is unusual for me, because I have never really considered myself a good comedic actor. In any case, it’s going to be a big challenge and a helluva lot of fun!
Show dates are the 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, and 22nd of May. Check it out on the calendar.
