Benny Ant Hill
Hedda and I live in a so-called “English basement” condominium unit. Since we are partially underground, on occasion arthropods of various types will find their way into our domain. This morning, Hedda noticed some ants in our front hallway.
So I put down some delicious borax for them. I was curious about the ants’ collective behavior at the discovery of food, so I propped up the camera to film them. I was shocked to discover that ants behave quite differently when humans aren’t around to observe.
English basement, indeed.
