In my many conversations with some of my anit-Microsoft friends, I have, of late, frequently espoused that Microsoft has changed in the last few years. While I still believe their business practices are often dispicable, if not illegal, the company has been moving in the right direction in the technology arena.
My proof? Lots of little things. Little things like free .NET Framework SDK downloads; like documents published on MSDN giving due credit to open source projects and languages; like this recent post by Rob Scoble. Say what you like about Microsoft, but you cannot deny that they learn from their mistakes. Fortunately for their competition, as the old axiom goes, it usually takes three tries for the boys in Redmond to get it right.
