Are We Safe Yet?

So they captured Saddam. He was captured “without a shot fired,” and now he will be imprisoned, tried, and probably executed for his “crimes against humanity.” Is the cost of the impending circus, in both dollars and lives, worth it merely to satisfy the world’s sense of justice? How many people did Saddam kill? Does it come close to the 150,000 the World Health Organization estimates died from global warming just last year? Will we swing the proverbial hammer of justice at the purveyors of pollution? I think not; we are too afraid of what that would mean.

I promise I won’t mention this particular ridiculous charade again. I hope this at least makes somebody sleep better tonight.
